Workshop on “IoT based Real-Time Control for Industrial Applications Using PIC, ARDUINO, and Soft Computing Techniques”
The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Guntur Engineering College has been organizng a wide range of programmes, competitions, and workshops for the benefits of students since its inception in 2008. A Two days National level workshop on “IoT Based Real-Time Control for Industrial Applications using PIC ARDUINO & Soft Computing Techniques” was conducted on 15 th – 16 th December – 2017.
About the program:
The Internet of things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, machines, devices, vehicles, buildings and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network connectivity – that enables these devices to collect and exchange data. The Internet of Things allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems which results in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit.
When IoT is augmented with sensors and actuators, the technology becomes an instance of the more general class of cyber-physical systems, which also encompasses technologies such as smart grids, smart homes, Intelligent transportation, intelligent control of industries and smart cities. Each thing is easily identifiable through its embedded computing system but it is able to incorporate within existing Internet infrastructure. Expert’s survey reveals that the IoT will consist of almost 50 billion objects by 2020.
This workshop enriches the participants on the basic concepts of IoT, IoT based real-time control for Industrial applications, Basics of PSO Algorithm, TLBO algorithm, and control of Multilevel inverter using soft computing techniques. This Workshop also enables the participants to gain a basic knowledge of the implementation of these concepts for real-time problems.
